Airventure 2014 - Oshkosh, Wisconsin new series

Today we start featuring images captured through the lens as seen by Transair at the recent Airventure event held at Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

First up, we have some shots of a T33 that MRC Aviation just so happened to photograph when it was static at Gaylord Regional Airport in early July.



Transair has also shared these Oshkosh Oddballs, some of which featured in earlier posts as seen by Rosco.

Global 5000 N939AP

Skylead Group Ltd Global 5000 N939AP touched down at Auckland late on the evening of 28 August from Jakarta/Halim using its assigned radio callsign of "Tagjet (TBJ) 03". 

This airframe has a strong NZ connection having been delivered brand new to Network Jets as N818FH back in July 2006 before exiting the region the following March and becoming N939AP.

Winfly 2014/15 wraps up



The Antarctic 2014/15 Winfly operation concluded today with the departure from Christchurch of United States Air Force Boeing C17 Globemaster III 10-0217 heading to Hickam as "Reach 5E5"  The C17 had arrived at Christchurch 18 August and made a round trip to Pegasus Field and back 24 August as "ICE 01", then another return trip on 26 August with a third trip south on 27 August arriving back at Christchurch in the early hours of 28 August.

Skytraders Airbus A319CJ VH-VHD made its first trip from Christchurch to Pegasus Field and return 24 August and then headed south to Pegasus again on 26 August before then flying to Melbourne.  Demonstrating its diverse operations, the A319 flew from Melbourne to Sydney, Darwin and Christmas Island 27 August so a significant contrast in climatic conditions from one day to the next!

Airventure 2014 - Oshkosh, Wisconsin - Part 5

This post continues our coverage of just a small slice of the action from this year's EAA Airventure at Oshkosh, Wisconsin.  With thanks to Rosco for taking the time to visit the show - oh, and to send through the pics!

Kiwi Creations in the USA

Transair has recently completed an extensive road trip of the USA and has kindly provided these shots of some kiwi creations employed in the States.

N141DZ was photographed at Jean, Nevada, 19 August.  This aircraft, c/n 150, was first registered ZK-KAJ on 03 December 2008 and cancelled less than three weeks later.  It was shipped to the USA and received its C of A on 21 January 2009.  The aircraft is currently operated by Skydive Las Vegas. 
N155VV is seen here at Boulder City, Nevada on 18 August.  Carrying c/n 155 this machine was registered ZK-JZI 03 March 2009 and first flew 30 March 2009.  It departed Auckland for Pago Pago under its ZK marks on 10 July 2009 and carried onto Christmas Island the following day.  It was cancelled from the Kiwi register 14 July 2009. It is operated by Skydive Las Vegas. 

N750DV is parked at Hollister, California on 17 August 2014.  It wears c/n 112 and was registered ZK-JPQ on 17 February 2005.  It was shipped to Canada and first flew on 09 June 2005 before turning up at Oshkosh for the annual aviation gathering the following month marked with the fictious FAA registration N750XL.  It took up its current markings on 25 October 2005 having been cancelled from the ZK register just over a week earlier.  It is currently operated by California Skydive Center. 

N750SD is seen here at Troy, Wisconsin 25 July 2014.  This example is c/n 111 and was first registered ZK-JQF on 06 October 2004.  Its first flight is recorded as 23 October 2004 and it departed Hamilton direct to Pago Pago on 21 December 2004 which incidentally is recorded as the day it was cancelled from the ZK register, presumably an electronic transaction before the Christmas break!   N750SD is currently operated by Skydive Milwaukee. 

N902ST taxiing out Rochelle, Illinois on 25 July 2014.  C/N 153 links this aircraft to ZK-JIF registered on 04 February 2009 and first flown 23 February 2009.  It was cancelled from the Kiwi register 27 March 2009 to become VH-YIF with Australian Air Ferry P/L, purely for the purpose of its delivery flight to the USA by the Australian firm.  As VH-YIF it departed Hamilton for Pago Pago 02 February 2009 and was cancelled from the VH register just 5 days later to take up N902ST.  It is currently operated by Chicagoland Skydiving Center.
