Citation Sovereign Demonstrator - 2005

Making the types first visit to New Zealand on July 30 2005 was one of Cessna’s newest Citation offshoots, the 680 Sovereign.  Registered N132SV, this smart midsize business jet arrived at Auckland from Papeete via Rarotonga to be demonstrated to interested parties in NZ.  The Sovereign had flown from the Wichita factory airfield to North Las Vegas, San Francisco and Honolulu on July 28 then to Papeete July 29.   The 680 has a maximum cruising speed of 845km/h at a service ceiling of 47,000ft.  Range with 8 passengers is just until 2,700nm (4,900km).   The Sovereign carried out a demonstration flight to interested parties August 01, which included a brief landing at Taupo, and departed early on August 02 to Noumea’s domestic airport, Magenta.

Four years later the first example to make NZ home arrived at Auckland as N121TL, later to become ZK-JTH with Jet Trader Holdings/Pacific Jets based at Auckland.
