Couple from Palm Springs

Late arrival and a setting sun with high temperatures precluded any museum trawling or spotting,  but we did manage to take these "relics" at the Palm Springs Air Museum (click here) along with an arriving airliner back on July 6th.

Boeing 737-300 ZK-SLA returns to NZ

After a seven year stint, leased B737-377 YR-BAC of Blue Air (nee ZK-SLA) flew into Auckland early 21 July  from Brisbane as JOR001. The 737 flew Bucharest to Karachi 18 July, to Rayong/U-tapao International (Thailand), Denpasar and Brisbane 19 July. It had been on a lease to the Romanian carrier from Airwork NZ since August 2005.

Couple of Corporates

Global 5000 B-LRH was spotted in the rain at Queenstown 30 July where it had arrived from Auckland back on 25 July as TBJ09.   It had flown from Melbourne/Tullamarine to Auckland on 23 July.

Gulfstream 550 XA-EAJ arrived at Rotorua 30 July from San Diego via Pago Pago and Auckland.  This Mexican registration has visited NZ previously but was adorned by a Gulfstream 5.

Boeing BBJ N7600K

Overnighting at Wellington 26 July was this stunning Boeing BBJ N7600K operated by SAS Institute.  It arrived at the Capital from Sydney and departed the next day for Honolulu.

Bell 214 ZK-HAU

As posted a couple of days ago, Bell 214 N281JL of McDermott Aviation turned up at Ardmore, presumably ex sea freight from Melbourne.  It was noted at Ardmore 03 July wearing the yet to be registered markings ZK-HAU as pictured below, taken 04 July.

Boeing 747-419 ZK-NBW - update!

Steve L has reported in from Tel Aviv with some photos of ex Air NZ Boeing 747-419 ZK-NBW, now marked as HL7620.  Click here to check out his report and images.

ZK-NBW departed Auckland during the first few minutes of 31 October 2011 for Los Angeles and Tel Aviv.

New Destination for Air NZ

As from today, Air NZ has added Maroochydore/Sunshine Coast to their route network with a twice weekly service from/to Auckland utilising Airbus A320 equipment.   Services will operate on Tuesdays and Sundays until the final flight on 18 September.   The first NZ769/768 was operated by Airbus A320 ZK-OJM.

Announced back in February this year, this will be the first time the Sunshine Coast has been served by an international service and the fourth destination in the state of Queensland to be visited by Air NZ on a scheduled basis (Cairns, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast). 

Bell 214 N281JL

McDermott Aviation's Bell 214 N281JL was noted at the Oceania hangar, Ardmore, on 28 June.

This raises the question of how it got there as this helicopter was noted at Melbourne/Essendon on 19 June.

Can anyone help?
