Busy times at Noumea (NWWW)

The South Pacific Games are currently underway at Noumea, New Caledonia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Pacific_Games) and the international airport at Tontouta has been hectic with participants arriving from across the region onboard specially designated flights operated by Air Pacific (Boeing 737-800), Air Tahiti Nui (Airbus A340-300), Solomon Airlines (Airbus A320 on its first passenger flights for the airline) and Air Vanuatu (ATR). 

French President Sarkozy and a large entourage coincided a visit to New Caledonia with the open cermony for the Games and flew in on military Airbus A310, A330, A340 and Falcon 7X.

Sovereign N777DY

Sovereign N777DY arrived at Auckland just on dusk 28 August from Hobart.   The Cessna had arrived in our region back on 15 August when it touched down at Port Moresby from Kona and Majuro then headed to Cairns the next day.  On 17 August they continued to Hamilton Island before next being noted enroute from Coolangatta to Sydney 21 August and to Adelaide 24 August before arriving at Hobart 26 August.

Winfly 2011

The Antarctica resupply programme has started for the 2011/2012 season with the arrival at Christchurch on 18 August of Boeing C17 08-8195.  Based out of McChord AFB, the C17 staged via Hickam and flew its first "Winfly" run to the ice on 20 August as ICE01 followed the next afternoon with another trip south, this time as ICE88.

Flights will run until months end or into early September before re-starting in earnest from October.

NZ King Air Population Expands

New Zealand's 14th Beechcraft King Air arrived at Auckland 22 August 2011 with Garden City Helicopters/NZ Flying Doctors C90 version N699TT touching down from Pago Pago.

The proximity of Boeing Field to downtown Seattle lends itself to be a hub for corporate aviation, both visitors and residents.  The following is but a small cross section taken within about a 60 minute timeframe.
