Pipped at the post....

Air New Zealand's plan to be the first to operate a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner commercially have been dashed with Japan's ANA launching their recently delivered -9 into service earlier today.

JA830A, configured with 395 seats, arrived at Haneda on the evening of 29 July after a direct flight from Paine Field as NH9399.

It entered service today, 07 August, as NH241 from Haneda to Fukuoka then back to Haneda as NH248.  The next round trip was from Haneda to Itami and back as NH0025/0030.  And lastly it is scheduled to fly from Haneda to Matsuyama and back as NH595/598.

Air New Zealand's -9, ZK-NZE, is thought to be taking flight this weekend on its first commercial run.
