Fiji Airways first Max- Delivery underway


Fiji Airways Boeing 737 MAX8 DQ-FAB, christened "Island of Kadavu", has commenced its delivery flight making its way to Honolulu from Boeing Field as FJI2001 01 December 2018 (NZ date).

It is set to arrive Nadi today, 03 December 2018 with its first commercial flight slated to be a Nadi-Adelaide service later in the month.



Boeing 737-800 DQ-FJG, also named "Island of Kadavu", appears to be the first aircraft planned to exit the fleet.

In late November 2016 Fiji Airways announced their order for five Boeing 737 MAX 8 narrowbody airliners to replace the current fleet of four Boeing 737-800's and a single Boeing 737-700.

The first two of the brand new Max 737's will be delivered before the end of 2018 and the remainder during 2019. 


Fiji Airways first Boeing 737 MAX 8 MSN 64307 is nearing its inaugural flight from Renton and is registered DQ-FAB
