RNZAF Participation at the 80th Anniversary Air Tattoo - C130 Hercules

The Lockheed C130H Hercules has a long and proud history with the Royal New Zealand Air Force and is now well into its 51st year of operation. The service had four of its five aircraft at Ohakea - NZ7005 being the only one not making an appearance, while NZ7002 was on hand having only the week prior exited a three (?) year upgrade programme with Safe Air at Woodbourne.

The C130's were widely utilised throughout the two day Air Tattoo and in the days before and after the weekend providing transport for Defence Force personnel from across the country along with Air Training Corp cadets. The type was also a frequent display aircraft conducting solo and formation activities measurable with its significant contribution to daily flying activities in support of NZ Defence Forces activities.
