As was to be expected, the Royal New Zealand Air Force was a significant contributor at its 80th Anniversary Air Tattoo with a large number of operational aircraft assembled on location to provide aerial and static displays.
The Whenuapai branch of the RNZAF put together their "Kiwi Thunder" display team comprised of a single Boeing 757, two Lockheed C130 Hercules and a lone Lockheed P3 Orion. This formation opened the airshow on both days providing quite a spectacle for those assembled.
