Northbound back on 27 February

The journey home from the Air Tattoo at Ohakea was a little flexible in its planning but after encountering unpleasant road works on the State Highway 1 we decided to head west and take in Whanganui, then cut north via Stratford to New Plymouth and then Auckland.

Long since retired from service - Piper PA28-235 N38558 awaits its fate at Norfolk Road. The Dakota was cancelled from the US register back in 2011. 

Cessna 172M ZK-DRQ parked at Norfolk Road. 

North Taranaki Aero Club's Cessna A152 ZK-KDB at Norfolk Road. 

Wilga 35A ZK-PZL nestled into its hangar sharing the space with Stinson 108 ZK-NCC and a collecting of gliders. 

Wilga 35A ZK-PZL number 1 take on an organic appearance at Norfolk Road. It was first registered in 1991 however came to grief at Omaka in January 2013 and was cancelled from the register two months later. 
Registered to a Turangi address, Cessna 150G ZK-CSW parked at New Plymouth. 

Helicopters Taranaki Robinson R44 ZK-IAU parked at New Plymouth. 

Precision Helicopters Bell 206B ZK-IRC at New Plymouth. This example was imported from the UK in 2015 where it flew as G-BARP. 

Registered to an Ohope address, Tecnam P2002 Sierra ZK-TBK was at New Plymouth. 
Krippners Airstrip, Ohaupo

Cessna A188B Agwagon ZK-CSL made its first flight back on 10 April 1967 from New Plymouth and after a number of operators and on/off the register events it was finally removed from the register on 11 April 2014 as "revoked". It sits awaiting the potential for a new lease of life at Krippners Strip.

Another "revoked" machine rests at Krippners Strip. Grumman G164A Agcat ZK-MEW was imported to NZ in 1991 from Australia where it flew as VH-JBB and was initially operated by Pionair Adventures. It went back to the Australian register in early 1995 becoming VH-MFW but by the end of that year had returned to ZK-MEW. It moved from owner to owner before being cancelled from the region on 15 April 2014.
