Farewell Jetstream ZK-VAH

Vincent Aviation Jetstream 32 ZK-VAH MSN 967 embarked on its delivery to points unknown 05 March with a lunchtime departure from Wellington direct to Norfolk Island then onto the Gold Coast, Mount Isa and Darwin arriving in the Northern Territories capital airport 16 hours after leaving the NZ capital.

This particular airframe has had a long history in the region. It first flew back in July 1992 before delivery across the Atlantic to West Wing Airlines, California (operating in American Eagle colours). It was withdrawn from service in March 1996 and placed in storage at Paso Robles, California. As N967JS, the Jetstream was delivered to Auckland based Air National arriving 16 October 1996 and become ZK-ECN a few days later. The aircraft went onto be available for charter work before its withdrawal from service in 2010 and it was cancelled from the Kiwi register 27 October to become VH-OTH with Aeropelican. It departed Auckland direct to Sydney the same day as Pelican 5000 and flew with the NSW airline for the next 18 months. On 23 June 2012 it departed Sydney as VH-OTH for Norfolk Island and Wellington and became
ZK-VAH with Vincent Aviation on 27 July 2012, again employed on adhoc charter work including scheduled flights on behalf of Air New Zealand Link subsidiary Eagle Airways. Vincent Aviation ceased trading in October 2014 and the aircraft has for the best part remained idle at Wellington pending disposal.
