Royal New Zealand Air Force Macchi MB339C NZ6471, callsign "Falcon 71" was retired from service in December 2001 following the disbandment of the RNZAF strike force. It arrived by truck at Ardmore 03 September to be displayed at the Warbirds museum. Another Macchi, NZ6469, has recently arrived at the Classic Flyers Museum at Tauranga and media reports indicate a desire by the facilitors to make the aircraft once again flyable!
