Mark One Eyeball Fail!

Well, the mark one eyeball failed, as did the thinking department when I stumbled across the Bell 429 last weekend working power pylons along Auckland's Southern Motorway. I had seen the "XW" and instantly thought it was ZK-HXW but as "anon" pointed out and as observed yesterday it is actually ZK-IXW on the job!  This airframe, 57026,  was first registered in January 2011 as ZK-HXW and became ZK-IXW in July 2014 to make way for a newer Bell 429, 57175. to take up the HXW markings.

Roy reports from Wellington BK117 ZK-IVB, operated by Garden City Helicopters, has been on similar operations around the Capital.

Unfortunately the weather yesterday was grey and rather dark so not the best snaps. Still, the chopper's activity was drawing lots of attention around the region.
