All Black Airbus A320 ZK-OAB arrives home

Air New Zealand's first dedicated Airbus A320-232, ZK-OAB, touched down on Auckland's runway 23L at 1534 01 February 2011 completing its delivery flight from Toulouse via stops at Gander, Denver, Los Angeles, Honolulu and Apia.   Prior to its arrival, the A320 made its approach to the region by descending over Whenuapai and then tracking to the Chelsea Sugar Factory at 1500ft to rendezvous with Helitranz AS350 ZK-HST before flying eastwards along the water front to North Head and Browns Island.
The aircraft was taxiied to gate 30 at the domestic terminal where formalities for the crew and small number of passengers, including All Blacks Captain Richie McCaw, were carried out.

ZK-OAB is planned to operate a series of flights on Sunday 06 February (Waitangi Day) so folk is Wellington, Queenstown, Dunedin, Christchurch and Rotorua can expect to see it at some point during the day.

Its first scheduled commercial flight is set for Monday 07 February from Auckland to Wellington as NZ405.
