Early Morning Lear


Making its first appearance this side of the Tasman, and sadly under the cover of darkness, was Jet City's latest acquisition - Learjet 45 VH-LJX c/n 056.  It arrived at Auckland from Essendon just before 0100 08 October and departed less than an hour later for Melbourne. 

This 1999 example was delivered to Essendon 31 August this year having crossed from the USA via the Northern Pacific route with its final legs being from Guam to Port Moresby and Essendon.

VH-LJX joins Learjet 35A VH-JCR and VH-LJJ along with Learjet 36 VH-JCX in the Melbourne based Jet City fleet.

Incidentally, 07 October was the 50th anniversary of the first flight of the now infamous Learjet.
