US Military PAT Gulfstream

United States Army Gulfstream 5/C37A 97-1944 (c/n 566) arrived at Wellington 08 November from Hickam as "PAT 44" 1.  This particular airframe has had an interesting history when it comes to the marks it has worn.

Originally registered N8VQ,  the Gulfstream was delivered to the US Army in November 1999 and it was given the serial number 97-0049 and christened "Normandy".  However to further enhance the naming of the aircraft in commeration of the invasion of Normandy, the serial number was changed to 97-1944 to reflect the year of "Operation Overlord".

97-1944, simply marked as 1944, arrived at Christchurch back on 30 October 2007 from Hickam as "PAT 474" and departed 01 November for Pago Pago and Hickam.
