DC3 N451ZS

Douglas DC3 N451ZS has been resident in New Zealand since 2012 and for most part she has remained idle.  It is understood the DC3 is currently located at Omaka having arrived there back in July 2013.

Activity on the operator's Facebook Page late last month said this:

Hi Everyone!! There has been a lot of talk and wishing for an air service from Te Anau/ Manapouri Airport, and with the arrival of Mark Oremland back at Te Anau Lodge this has become a focus. Most of you know the DC3 "Jean Batten Clipper", and it is Mark`s desire to bring her back to Fiordland. Working with Air Chatham`s, it is the intention to provide a trial of 12 flights to Christchurch and return between mid December and mid March, to see just how much support this concep...t may receive. Costs are expected to be in the region of $300 one way, and $500 return. This may be in a DC 3, or faster pressurised commuter type aircraft. The future of this service is in your hands!! If you`re interested we`d love to hear from you with dates and times which suit you. It must be emphasised that this is a trial to try and get this up and running and give confidence to continued operations, and the only way it will work is if you actively participate in the creation of the initial offering. All feedback and pledges of support are very welcome and encouraged - please contact the team at info@airscapade-affairs.com or 03 249 7477 It stands to reason that our little population will need help to keep this running, so let`s be really creative, and think outside the square to work out how to get as many people using this service from out of town.

We look forward to following developments!
