Today's nostalgic post is around an aircraft that didn't actually see service with Air New Zealand but was instrumental in the retro fitting of hush kits to 10 of the carrier's fleet of Boeing 737-200's to reduce the noise footprint.
Boeing 737-2L9 N737Q (21279) was first flown in late 1976 and spent the first part of its life working around Europe wear it wore OY-APH, EI-BII and F-GCGS before later become D2-TBU and C6-BEQ. In 1990 it was fitted with Nordam hush kits and became N737Q.
Interestingly, Boeing 737-222 ZK-NAM was initially registered N737Q back in 1968.
