USAF C17 Globemaster

Arriving at Christchurch just on 1400 today, 29 June, was USAF Boeing C17 Globemaster 08-8197 from the McChord Air Force Base.  As "Reach 5E2",  the C17 staged via Hickam/Honolulu and is apparently down under to conduct a winter medivac flight from Antarctica.  It will be interesting to see when this takes place considering the ash cloud conditions forecast over the very southern latitudes down to around 5000ft.
